Pharmacists can and do specialize. Search for the Pfizer Pharmacy Career Guide. You more than certainly can do a residency or fellowship in a speciality.
Just to share a thought because I’m not sure, but I believe that pharmacists specialize in medication. You need to know what the meds are for and what side effects they can have, and also if they interact with other medications. You should know what other medicines your customers are on in order to help them avoid problems.
You may well be able to specialize in heart disease treatment and medications, and it would be good experience to have those clinicals, but you may be limiting your job options if you stick strickly to that field. Like I said, just sharing a thought. Definitely check out your options. Good luck.
